The ultimate Fat Finger...

OMG, it's good to be back... What I thought was a "glitch" that caused my computer to not to fire up... (it would power up but not turn on), turned out to be a full blown crash and burn and the purchase of a new laptop. So this is the inaugural blog on my new machine. It couldn't have happened at a worse time. So in the spirit of catching up... (this is becoming my style and standard operating procedure), Merry Christmas everybody!! I hope everyone enjoyed their holiday celebrations. Mine was quiet... (thanks to the 2500 mile buffer zone) punctuated with a hike up a mountain with a very good friend... (the weather was beautiful). Besides this new purchase, I also got a new camera (a gift from "Jim" Claus), a Nikon D3000 complete with a telephoto lens (which is completely outside my technical ability) but also has point and shoot capability... (Thank the Lord). So, I will be snapping away like a true shutterbug... (because all my pictures are trapped and lost forever). But no crying over spilt milk (or lost photos), I will just replace them with newer and better pictures. So, because of these purchases, Jim will be working as much as he can... (love the third person).

Speaking of work, I was elbow deep in Iowans the last few days and the Iowa connection that was forged with MY cousins (that's ALL of you, Anna) continues. I worked the Convention Center on Monday night and it was a pep rally for the University of Iowa (Go Hawkeyes) complete with the band and cheerleaders and President Sally and about 4500 fans to cheer the night before the Hawkeyes battled the Missouri Tigers in the Insight Bowl on Tuesday. Then I worked the game itself on Tuesday night and ran the tunnel and locker room area for which team? Iowa, of course. Met Coach Ferentz and his staff and talked to some of the players and watched a terrific game which Iowa pulled out in the end 27-24 on a game televised on ESPN. Last year I worked the game and was in the tunnel with the Iowa State Cyclones (who won that game). And if you remember (don't worry if you don't) I worked the Phoenix Open and walked with Zach Johnson from Cedar Rapids, Iowa... (are you seeing the pattern?). One more...worked at Kurt Warner's retirement press conference (former supermarket shelf stocker from Iowa).

So, look for more ramblings from the West... I'm back on the air!!!!!!!!
