Happy New Year!!! Sorry to get in the late call, but you know how it gets this time of year for Security Man... Busy, busy January and February. Barrett Jackson Car Auction, Waste Management Phoenix Open and then the Accenture Match Play Tournament in Tucson. And now add in the airport assessment for TSA in Phoenix (thank you, Mary Ann from TSA) and I will be sleeping and working with a few meals thrown in for the next 2 months. TSA (Transportation Security Administration) called the other day and offered me a chance to take my airport assessment in Phoenix (the next step to a possible job offer). I have an appointment on January 19 at 8am at their offices...(2 hours of interviews, testing and of course, more fingerprinting!). I've been fingerprinted more times than a repeat offender, but it's all part of the process...(step 4 of 12 or 13). I received a five page email describing the job requirements and there is 8 weeks of training involved and, I'm sure, more paperwork, so I will keep you informed as I go along. As I have told you before, the position is "permanent part time" which is between 20-25 hours per week, but the benefit package available is a prorated version of full time employee benefits. My boss at the Convention Center is willing to work around my schedule, so it's a win-win situation. The only downside is that I may not be able to go to New York for the US Open in August, but we'll take one step at a time, one day at a time...(after all, I am pretty good at that philosophy).
No new resolutions for 2013 for me... I just want to continue on the good habits I have been building on the past few weeks and months. I work out every other day and have incorporated some jogging in the mix, although the bicycle will probably assume a more dominant role...(the knees are still cranky). I am eating healthier by incorporating more fruits and vegetables in all my meals and relying on smarter snack choices. I am hoping to continue these positive trends throughout 2013 and beyond. My wish is for you and yours to enjoy a healthy and prosperous 2013 and may your goals and dreams always be in reach. Happy birthday in heaven to my Dad, Robert Sr...not a day goes by when I don't think of you and wish we could sit down and catch up on all that is going on. Best of all to all of you...Happy New Year!!
