Oh, what a tangled web...

What a tease!  In my last report I said I had found my mojo and would be blogging more and the next thing you know, it's almost another month before I'm sending you this blog.  The slow period of the summer is over I guess, because I'm back working almost 40 hours per week.  We had a couple of big shows and we're staffing for the river regatta in Bullhead City (I have been told I will not be enduring the 125 degree outside trip...I will remain in Phoenix for this trip so the new event manager can experience an off-site event).  So I cancelled the 55 gallon drum of sunblock and will look forward to ONLY 100+ degree days here in Phoenix.  I got my plane tickets for the US Open Tennis Tournament.  I will be back in NYC from August 22 until September 10.

In the meantime, I am in upstate New York as we speak, visiting my friends from Newburgh and playing a little golf (I have a set of clubs here).  My friends who usually go to Aruba every year the same week I do are not travelling there this year so I wanted to at least see them on this last minute vacation before 3 straight weeks of 12 hour days in NYC...(sorry I missed you, Toni.  I hope you're feeling better today).  I flew in on Thursday night late and drove up to Newburgh and have spent the weekend with the Daddys, catching up and playing golf Friday, Saturday and Sunday...(now I know why I left those clubs here. I played terrible).  We all got together on Sunday night for a dinner at one of my favorite restaurants and it was great to see everyone again.  John and Denise are beginning a new adventure and I wish them all the luck in the world. No details until they give me the go ahead in a couple of weeks.  I am going to visit Cousin Lynn on Long Island this evening and have dinner with her and Bob.  They were nice enough to put me up for the night and then I am spending the day in the "city" before flying back to Phoenix.  Sorry I can't visit everyone this time.  It was a last minute trip and I got a good deal on airfare.  I am hoping some of you will meet me in Manhattan for dinner while I am here later this month.

I will continue to fight the blog block that has plagued me this summer.  I have some exciting plans for the fall and winter (still in the works, but I need to spice things up a bit).  I don't want to fall into too much of a routine because that was not in the plans when I moved out to Phoenix (believe it or not it will be 4 years this November).  I will continue to be available for visits for all who want to come out (no snow, highs in the 80's and 90's, cool evenings, no rain, all "winter").  The dream remains alive and I will continue to live the dream.
